Generally our admissions are purely online with the use of scratch cards and mobile money transfers as well as other online paying systems such as Visa, PayPal.


The institute currently runs four masters programmes in areas of Administration, Local Economic Development, Environment and Financial Management.

General Admission Requirements
Applicants must have a First Class or Second Class (Upper or Lower Division) honours degree preferably in the Social Sciences from a recognised university or an equivalent approved by the Institute.

Preamble
The ILGS in collaboration with the OHLGS offers the enhanced Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme for staff of the Local Government Service. These programmes, referred to as the Local Government (LG) Scheme of Service (SoS) Training Programmes have a menu of courses that is fit-for-purpose for the various professional classes clustered as follows:
administrators;
human resource managers;
environmental health and sanitation officers;
finance, budget and rating officers;
planners (development and physical);
engineers and;
management information system officers.
